It must be a holiday weekend because it is 10:15 I am still awake, although I am fading (yes, I am old). This was quite the eventful weekend and I don’t think the week is going to slow down. Here’s a quick look back at all the fun:
The Grouse Grind
This past weekend my cousin and a group of friends were visiting Vancouver. They were heading up to Grouse Mountain to do The Grind and I have wanted to do it since we moved here so I thought it was the perfect place to met up!
Run for Water
This morning was the annual Run for Water race here in Abbey. They put such an awesome event with five races categories: ultra, full, half, 10k, and 5k! For the last few months I have been leading a learn to run group with two other friends. Today, our group had finishers in the full, half, 10k, and 5k! Kyle did the half in 2:06. It was his first 13.1 since the 2011 Shanghai Marathon and I could not be more proud.
Run Victoria Training Week 1
Today, marks the first day of marathon training! I am excited to start working towards an awesome race with a hopeful PR. I am doing the “Quest for improvement marathon training program” and if you want to read about my goals for marathon #3 click here. Here is the training schedule for this week:
Well it is way past my bedtime and I need my rest because my parents and grandparents fly in tomorrow! I hope you had a wonderful weekend and Happy Memorial Day!
